A low-light image of my office desk area.
I was born in Hartford, CT, and was raised in Atlanta, Georgia since age five. I went to Marist, St. Pius X, Riverside Military Academy, and graduated from Northside High School in 1981. From there, I attended the University of Georgia, and in 1992, graduated with a BA in Psychology, and a minor in Spanish.
In 1995, I attended John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, GA., and in 1998, I passed the State Bar Exam. My first employer had me in court immediately after becoming a licensed attorney. Criminal defense cases were the main emphasis of my practice in the early years. My father, Robert John White, Esquire, RIP (October, 2024), up until his death, was a practicing personal injury lawyer in Georgia since 1969. He taught me how to effectively represent people and what it takes to be a good lawyer. Since 1998, my practice has focused mainly on personal injury and criminal defense cases.
If you have a legal matter, just call me. I'll happily speak with you for as long as it takes. After 25 years of law practice, I'm not burned out. I honestly love talking law with people. If I can help you, I'll let you know. I'll even tell you how much you'll have to pay me for my services. If I can't help you, I'll tell you, and may refer you to another lawyer that might be able to assist you.
If you do retain me as your attorney, when you call, unless I'm on the other line or am unavailable, I'll answer the phone. Not a paid assistant, paralegal, secretary, or other employee-ME! If you call me and have to leave a message, your call will be answered that day, or very early the next day. Even if I'm on vacation.
Folks, I've answered client calls on Christmas day, the 4th of July, on my birthday, and even on Sundays. Crazy, right? To you, maybe, but not to me. I only take in a few cases every year. I do that for a reason. Sure, in my early years as an attorney, I had more than 100 cases at a time. I quickly realized that I couldn't properly represent every one of those clients. I did my job, but wasn't available like I am now. In the last decade or so, I decided to slow down a bit. To only handle a few cases a year. To give every client's case the attention it deserves and to be available to talk whenever the need arises. I very frequently give my clients case updates. Usually in an email, but often over the phone. It's rare that a client has to call me to ask what's going on with their case.
As a sole practitioner, I personally conduct all legal research in every case. What's the big deal with that, you ask? Well, non-lawyers didn't go to law school, and don't have the specific training required to conduct proper legal research. They also don't have the legal experience required to properly interpret statutes and appellate opinions. So, relying upon non-lawyers to conduct legal research is a hit or miss proposition. You hire an attorney to handle your case, but it's non-lawyers that handle most of the work. Is that what you want for your case? I personally interview all witnesses, write every letter, conduct every deposition, handle all records requests, and do everything else that's required in every case. That way, my client's know their case was handled properly.
When not working, I enjoy DIY outdoor home projects, vegetable gardening, cooking/grilling, saltwater fishing, photography, and video-graphy. For 25 years now, I remain committed to changing the public's negative perception of lawyers one client at a time. Go ahead, read some of my former client reviews. And if you want to know more, just call me.
